8 days tour from Casablanca: Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1 of the 8 Days Tour from Casablanca: CASABLANCA – FES :
On the first day of the 8 days tour from Casablanca, we will pick you up from the airport. Then we will take you to Fes and drive via Rabat (the capital of Morocco) and Meknes. On the way we will stop to visit some places, including the ruins of the Roman Empire in Volubilis. We arrive in Fes in the late afternoon. Overnight stay in a riad/hotel.
DAY 2 : DISCOVERING FES :
The second day of the 8-day tour from Casablanca is dedicated to exploring Fes. It is the first-founded imperial city in Morocco (9th century). The trip begins with a visit to the Royal Palace Gate. After that we will visit the Jewish quarter El Mellah. Then, we visit Al-Qaraouine University (the world’s first university) in the Medina, the Tanneries, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Idris. After lunch, we will take you to a fascinating viewpoint over the medina of Fes. Overnight stay in a riad/hotel.
DAY 3 : FES – SAHARA DESERT – CAMEL RIDE IN ERG CHEBBI DUNES AND NIGHT IN A TENT :
Our destination today is the Merzouga Desert after leaving Fes. Our 8-day tour from Casablanca will take us through the Middle Atlas Mountains, where we will stop to visit the great cedar forest near the Berber town of Azrou. Then we continue the journey until we stop for lunch in Midelt.
Then we continue to Merzouga via the pass of Tizi N’Talghamt and the Ziz Gorge, admiring the magnificent views and landscapes. On the road we drive along the Ziz valley and through the towns of Erfoud and Rissani.
From the village of Merzouga, set off on a camel trek to the Erg Chebbi dunes, the highest sand dunes in North Africa. The ride on the camels, accompanied by a camel guide, will take about 2:30 minutes until you reach the destination where the tent will be set up for you.
During this visit you will have the opportunity to see the breathtaking sunset over the high sand dunes. After dinner in the tent, you can enjoy the endless starry sky around the campfire while listening to Berber music.
DAY 4 : SAHARA – TODGHA GORGES – DADES VALLEY :
Early in the morning you will be woken up by your guide/camel man to enjoy a breathtaking view of the sunrise over the high sand dunes.
Then you will ride back to Merzouga on camels. Here you can have breakfast and shower. After that, we will set out to visit other places. These include mainly Rissani with the famous and largest souks in Morocco and Erfoud, which is famous for the production of various fossils. On Day 4, we will continue to the fascinating Todra Gorge, which has the highest gorges in Morocco and is a popular destination for rock climbers.
After a walk through the cliffs and lunch, we will drive to the Dades Valley where the amazing rock formation “Monkey Toes” is located. Overnight stay in a hotel in Dades.
DAY 5 : DADES VALLEY – AIT BEN HADDOU KASBAH – MARRAKECH :
Today we continue this exploration tour by visiting more places. We will drive to Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa). Before arriving at our destination, we stop to visit the Valley of Roses in Kalaat M’Gouna.
Then we continue to the village of Skoura, where there is an impressive oasis with palm groves. We will then drive to Ouarzazate and visit the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou (UNESCO heritage site), which has served as a backdrop for numerous movies (Kingdom of Heaven, Gladiator…).
After lunch, we will make our way to Marrakech and drive through the high Atlas Mountains and the Tizi N’tichka, where we can enjoy and admire the breathtaking landscapes. Overnight stay in a hotel/riad
DAY 6 : DISCOVER MARRAKECH CITY :
Today you will explore the city of Marrakech under guided tour. The city offers several historical and cultural sites such as the beautiful Majorelle Gardens (created in 1925 by a French artist), the Koutoubia Tower/Minerat, the Saadian Tombs and the beautiful Bahia Palace. Lunch will be at a restaurant near the grand Jamaa El Fnaa square. Afterwards, you will have plenty of time to stroll through the cultural souks along the many handicrafts and traditional stores. DAY 7: DAY EXCURSION, MARRAKECH – ESSAOUIRA.
Today we will drive from Casablanca to Essaouira on the 8-day tour. This beautiful city is located on the Atlantic Ocean. Essaouira is not only an attraction for surfers from all over the world, but also has many sights and monuments to offer. These include the authentic medina, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The fortress walls of Skala and the port, where you can eat fresh seafood, are also worth seeing.
DAY 8 the last day of the the 8 Days Tour from Casablanca: TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT.
