DAY 1 of the THE DESERT TOUR FROM TANGIER : TANGIER TO CHEFCHAOUEN:

On the first day of the DESERT TRIP FROM TANGIER, we will take you from Tangier to Chefchouen, passing through several villages in the impressive Rif Mountains, where you can enjoy the magnificent landscapes and views. Chefchouen is one of the most popular destinations for tourists in Morocco. This blue town has beautiful architecture, handicraft stores and funky art. You will have plenty of time to explore the medina and sights of Chefchouen. Overnight in a hotel/riad in the medina.

DAY 2: CHEFCHAOUEN – VOLUBILIS – MEKNES – FES:

The second day of this DESERT TRIP FROM TANGIER will take us to Fes, where we will visit some places of interest. After a drive through the village of Ouazzane, we stop to visit the special ruins of the Roman Empire. This fascinating and archaeological stops in an interesting story.

Then we continue to Meknes, one of the four royal cities of Morocco. Here we visit some historical sites, including Bab Mansour (the main gate to the medina of Meknes), the shrine of Moulay Ismail and the square Lahdim. After lunch and a short visit to Meknes, the tour will continue to Fes. Overnight stay in a hotel/riad in Fes.

DAY 3: EXLORATIVE JOUREY TO FES

On the third day of TANGIER DESERT TOUR we explore the sites and monuments that hold valuable culture, architecture and history. We start with a visit to the gate of the Royal Palace. Afterwards, we embark on an exploratory walk through the Jewish Quarter (Mellah).

Afterwards, we continue the journey visiting Al-Karaouine University/Mosque (the first university in the world according to many scholars and UNESCO), the beautiful Tennaries, Al-Attaraine Museum and Moulay Idris Mausoleum. Overnight stay will be in the same riad/hotel.

DAY 4: FES – IFRAN- CEDAR FOREST- MIDELT – ZIZ VALLEY/GORGES – ERFOUD – SAHARA DESERT (MERZOUGA DESERT/ ERG CHEBBI DUNES).

On the 4th day of the DESERT TRIP FROM TANGIER, the destination is the desert. The route takes us through several places, starting with the city of Ifrane (Switzerland of Morocco). Then we pause to visit the cedar forest (a large forest area where monkeys live) near the town of Azrou.

Afterwards, the journey continues to the desert of Merzouga via Errachidia, the Tizi N’Talghamt pass, the beautiful Ziz Gorges and Erfoud (the capital of the fossil industry in Morocco). Upon arrival in Merzouga, we will serve you a Moroccan mint tea before driving to your hotel where you will spend the night.

DAY 5: DISCOVER SAHARA DESERT – CAMEL TREKKING:

Exploring the different desert areas is one of the experiences you will appreciate. That is exactly what we are going to do today. We will visit some places. It starts with the drive to Khamlia village, where we will learn about the interesting way of life and culture of the people. This village is inhabited by people originally from Mali, Sudan and Mali. They were brought here as slaves at that time. The village is also known for its Gnawa music. After lunch, we will drive to the city of Rissani (optional visit), which is historically the first dynasty of the Alouite family (royal family). In the city there are the largest souks where a variety of goods are sold and people from the surrounding villages come to shop. Visiting the souks is a special and cultural experience. Then we drive back to Merzouga. Afterwards we start the camel trek to the Erg Chebbi dunes. You will spend the night and have dinner in a Berber hut under the endless starry sky. You can also listen to the Berber drums and music around the campfire.

DAY 6: SAHARA DESERT – TODRA GORGES – DADES VALLEY:

In the morning the camel man will wake you up early enough to enjoy a breathtaking view of the sunrise over the high sand dunes. After that, a camel ride back to Merzouga is on the agenda. In Merzouga village you will freshen up and have breakfast. The tour will continue by passing through Erfoud and other villages to the Dades Valley. Todra Gorge is the next place you will visit. It is known for its high and narrow cliffs that are a destination for hikers.

After a walk, lunch and enjoying the view and the landscape, we will drive to Dades Valley. Overnight stay in a hotel in Dades.

DAY 7: DADES VALLEY – OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU – MARRAKECH:

On the 7th day we leave the hotel in the Dades Valley and continue our tour visiting more sights and places. We will drive to Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa). On the way we will stop to visit the Valley of the Roses and the Road of the Thousand Kasbahs and enjoy the fascinating views. The day continues to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This wonderful site has been a World Heritage Site since 1987 and has served as a backdrop for several international films such as Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and many more.

We will then drive to the city of Marrakech via the Tizi N’Ticka and the High Atlas Mountains, rich in magnificent landscapes. Overnight stay in a riad in Marrakech.

DAY 8: MARRAKECH CITY TOUR:

Day 8 of the DESERT TOUR OF TANGIER is dedicated to exploring the most beautiful sides of Marrakech. The Red City is very rich in monuments and sites worth visiting. Our trip starts with a visit to the beautiful Majorelle Gardens, the Saadian Tombs and the beautiful Bahia Palace. We will then visit the medina and the interesting souks. Overnight stay in a riad in Marrakech.

DAY 9: DAY TRIP TO ESSAOUIRA:

On the 9th day of the DESERT TRIP FROM TANGIER we will make an excursion to Essaouira. It is a city worth seeing in Morocco. It takes about 2 hours to reach from Marrakech. Essaouira is known as the city of the wind, which is a perfect attraction for surfers, and Mogador, the name it had when it was founded by the Portuguese in the 15th century.

In Essaouira there are several attractions to visit, such as the Skala Ramparts, the Medina (Unesco World Heritage Site), the port of Essaouira, where you can eat fresh seafood …. Essaouira not only has a wonderful and ancient architecture, but is also located on the Atlantic Ocean. The trip also includes a cultural visit to the argan oil cooperative to see how the rare oil is extracted and learn about its natural and cosmetic uses. Overnight stay in a riad in Marrakech.

DAY 10: MARRAKECH – AIRPORT:

Transfer to the airport. END OF THE DESERT TOUR FROM TANGER.
