DAY 1 of the 3 DAYS TOUR FROM FES : FES – IFRANE – AZROU – MIDELT – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA :
We will pick you up from your hotel/accommodation. Then we start our 3-day tour from FES towards the desert (Merzouga desert).
During this interesting and explorative journey, we will drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, admiring and enjoying the magnificent views along the road. We take a break in the beautiful town of Ifran (Switzerland of Morocco).
Then we take a short break to visit the largest forest area in Morocco, the Cedar Forest. This beautiful forest area near the town of Azrou is a home to Barbary macaques. We then continue to the desert town of Midelt and the Ziz Valley, where we make another stop to enjoy the breathtaking gorges and take some photos.
Before arriving in the Merzouga desert, we will pass through the towns of Erfoud (the center of fossils in Morocco) and Rissani. The day is not over yet. From Merzouga we start for a camel trekking towards the Erg Chebbi dunes. After a 1:30 minute ride on the camels and watching the sunset over the highest sand dunes in North Africa, we will reach your camp where you will spend the night and have dinner.
After dinner you can sit around the campfire and listen to the drums and music of the Berer people under the endless stars.
DAY 2 : SAHARA DESERT – TODRA GORGE – DADES VALLEY :
Today’s program of the 3-day tour of FES, your guide in the desert will wake you up early enough to watch the amazing view of the sunrise from the high sand dunes. Afterwards, you will ride your camels back to Merzouga village and admire the landscapes that the desert offers throughout the day. In Merzouga village, we will make sure you have breakfast and shower.
Afterwards, we set off to visit the impressive Todra Gorge. The drive will take us through Tinghir and many other places. Todra Gorge is famous for its high and narrow gorges and is a popular destination for hikers. After lunch and sightseeing, the Dades Valley is the next destination. In Dades you will see the Monkey Toes rock formation. Overnight stay in a guest house in Dades.
DAY 3 : DADES VALLEY – AIT BEN HADDOU KASBAH – MARRAKECH :
Our destination is Marrakech, after leaving the Dades Valley. On the way there, we drive along the beautiful and scenic road of the Thousand Kasbahs. Then we stop to visit the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. This large, historic and fascinating site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where several Hollywood movies such as Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven were filmed.
Afterwards, we continue the tour to Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa). After lunch, we will drive to Marrakech via the incredible Tizi N’Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains, where you can’t help but admire the landscapes and views. Overnight at your accommodation in Marrakech.
